Ruscogenin (Rus), also known as Ruscogenin, its molecular formula is C27H42O4, the molecular weight is 430.63, Ruscogenin was first isolated from the Ruscus aculeatus L. in Eastern Mediterranean area, belongs to a steroidal saponin, and is also one of the main active ingredients of Ophiopogon japonicus (L.f) Ker-Gawl.

Product Function

Ruscosaponin has a significant anti-inflammatory effect. Studies have shown that Ruscosaponin exerts anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting the adhesion between HL-60 cells and activated ECV304 cells.
Liu et al. (2002) found that one of the mechanisms by which Luscosaponin exerts anti-inflammatory effects may be by interfering with the protein kinase C signaling pathway and then blocking lymphocyte migration into the extracellular matrix, thereby reducing the production of inflammatory mediators and the activity of inflammatory cells. This is especially important to reduce symptoms such as redness and itchiness on sensitive skin.
