Product Introduction
Catechins are also called catechin essence and tea tannin. The foam of tea soup is rich in catechins. It is a derivative of flavanols. Catechins were originally extracted from catechu and are colorless crystalline solids; they are soluble in water; their aqueous solutions are easily polymerized into amorphous tannins when heated or in the presence of inorganic acids. They are two important functional components in tea, along with caffeine, but catechins are the main component of tea soup.
